Chase Hollow: The Kid from the Dirt Roads Who's Rewriting Motocross History

At 24, Chase Hollow is quiet, calculated, and just 14 points from the series lead. Three seasons of crashes, broken bones, and bad luck built the foundation. Now, with four rounds left and nothing to lose, the kid from the dirt roads of Alabama is finally, undeniably ready to take what's his.

Chase Hollow: The Kid from the Dirt Roads Who's Rewriting Motocross History

There's a certain kind of quiet confidence that only comes from years of eating roost on backwoods tracks before anyone knew your name. Chase Hollow has that look. At 24, he's already three seasons into his 450 class career, sitting second in the overall standings, just 14 points behind series leader Damon Pruett.

Growing Up on Two Wheels

Chase Hollow was born in Selma, Alabama, the youngest of three boys in a household where Saturday meant the track, not the couch.

"My dad raced amateur his whole life," he says, wiping the dust from his goggles. "Never went pro, but he was fast. I grew up watching him and thinking — I want that. Not the trophies, just that feeling of being totally locked in."

By the time he was eight, Chase was racing 50cc. By twelve, he was already beating kids four years older on the local amateur circuit.

The Hard Years

His first two pro seasons were defined by crashes and bad luck. A broken collarbone in 2023 cost him six rounds. An engine failure at Southwick in 2024 — while he was leading — still stings.

"You find out who you are in those moments. That's when character gets built. I think I needed all of it."

The Riding Style

Ask anyone in the pits about Hollow and the same word comes up: smooth. He's not a holeshot guy, but once he's in a rhythm, he's nearly impossible to rattle.

"The track tells you where the speed is," he says. "A lot of guys ride with their ego. I'd rather adapt."

Eyes on the Championship

With four rounds left, Hollow stays focused on the process, not the points.

"The year I was most obsessed with the standings was the year I rode the worst. Now I just focus on the next moto."

Chase Hollow is no longer a name to watch — he's a name to reckon with.
